One year already?

WHAT?! ONE YEAR OLD?!  I am having some serious emotional moments lately, I honestly cannot believe that this little person is already going to be one.  I know everyone says how quickly this all goes, but I have to say it as well.  This past year has been the best year of my life.  Everyday is different, exciting, exhausting, and fun.  Remember this little person?!

Our Home

We are busy busy finishing up the last few things on our house.  Kyle has been on the tractor every moment possible leveling our yard preparing for grass.  Yesterday I caulked some parts on the porch and today I am putting a coat of primer and a final coat on some exterior trim.  While doing these final projects I can't help but reflect on the long process of building this house, and how it is now starting to feel like a home.  I feel so lucky, it is such a masterpiece, and even though it is still too early to look back on the process fondly, I do look back with appreciation.  So many people rallied around us to help build this big white house, and I am so thankful for every minute of time donated to complete this gigantic project.

While I am feeling appreciative, I need to recognize Mr. Watson. No one worked harder on this house, spent more time thinking about it (obsessing really).  It obviously could not be possible without him and words can't describe how lucky I feel to have a man in my life like him.  Every morning when I wake up and every evening when I make sure the doors are locked I am reminded of the hard work and love that went into building this home.

Thank you =)

The lot very early on.  Yep that is Maxx sleeping under the umbrella.  =)

About half way through, brrrr that was some cold work.
Just a REALLY adorable recent picture of Maxx I wanted to share.  This is his "serious" face.  =)

Summer

Getting used to the weather in Northern Idaho may be one of the hardest parts of our transition here.  One day it is snowing and freezing, with a winter that feels like it will never end, and the next it is summer.  Not just kinda warm, but like full blown summer.  I am convinced that within a 48 hour period the snow melted and now all I can think about is Otter Pops.  I am not at all complaining, it is magnificent.  Summer in Idaho is like a dream.  It smells delicious, everyone is taking full advantage of it (probably because it only lasts a little while), and spirits are high.

The Watson family partook in an Idaho favorite when we participated in the Moyie Mud Bogs last weekend.  We saw a LOT of mud, trucks, confederate flags, and beer.  What a riot!  We took Maxxman and he did great.  He wore earplugs and was fascinated by all the loud trucks.  He has recently started making a vroom vroom noise whenever he is near a motorcycle or truck, so the bogs made him more than happy.  One cannot completely do justice to the mud bogs by describing them, it is an event you must go to and experience first hand to understand.

Mens softball has also began.  This Monday was the first game for Kyle and the Golden Rule team.  They won by one run!! =)  (studmuffins) Maxx and I rode our bikes to the field and watched Dad and Uncle Justin play.  I love watching baseball with great people (Woop woop Becca and Ruth)!  Maxx enjoyed crawling over all of us as during the game and getting lots of attention.  They have a double header on Monday so if you are in town come by Travers Park and watch the boys play!  Unfortunately I was having too much fun watching and talking (and being crawled on) that I forgot to take one single picture, =(, but next week I promise to have some action shots of the team!

Oh how I love summer.

Stairs

We have mastered the stairs!!  Er, well, almost mastered the stairs.  Maxx can crawl up them like a pro, it is the down that we are still working on.  He grasps the concept that he has to scoot down them backwards, the pointing himself in the right direction is the tricky part.  He will be siting at the top, lay down with his face still facing down the stairs and start scooting backwards down the hall.  I give him an A for effort and understanding, now we will just keep turning him toward the right direction.

The ability to quickly climb stairs opens up a lot more space that he can wonder off to, and it is keeping Mom on her toes.  Before I could shut some doors and know he was confined to the kitchen, dining room, and living room.  Now adding stair space and upstairs, let me tell you I am on my toes ALL of the time.  Last night Dad and Maxx were playing the "Chase me up the stairs" game.  Nothing like making a kid good at climbing stairs fast like a 185 pound Dad chasing you, ready to tickle tickle tickle.  Needless to say there were a LOT of giggles in my house last night.   Happy days.

Mrs. Watson 1, Camera Charger 0 (barely)

There are very few things about my house I do not adore.   Very few.  It is beautiful, magnificent, grand.  From the white pillars on the front porch down to the lovely pine trim Mr. Watson spent days making oh so perfect.  It is a dream come true.  Okay, now I'm just gushing and losing track of the point.  My point is this, very few things I don't like...but this is one of them.  Lost things.

It really has nothing to do with the house and more to do with the moving into it.  I know where 98% of our stuff is right now, but that silly 2% is such a drag.  Like a missing car title here, a blu ray here, and the annoying vanished camera charger.  This camera charger has eluded me for months, it is gone, just gone!  I have two cameras, a fun big fancy one I use most often and an easy portable one.  The portable camera's charger was the one that had disappeared and the camera was completely dead for months, but in the end I won.  I found it.  Yay!!!  And to add to the excitement I got to finally see what pictures were on the camera.  SO MANY CUTE PICTURES!!  This picture was one of my favorites.  Maxx-man is so smiley, even when his mother can't seem to get the food into his mouth but all over his cutie pie face.

So here it is, a picture that was almost lost forever in a dead camera.  My little messy man all wrapped up in a smile.  Happy day!
