Big R

Yesterday Mr. Maxx man and I went shopping to pick up a few things, like dog food and motorcycle parts.  I have never put Maxx in the shopping cart because I have become a little bit of a germaphobic since becoming a mom, and I can just imagine all the yuck that is on those carts.  We had to stop by Big R and as I grabbed the shopping cart fumbling with Maxx in my arms I thought, "If you can't trust Big R to have fairly clean shopping carts, what store can you trust?".  So I broke down and placed the little bug in the shopping cart.  HE LOVED IT!!  He wouldn't stop smiling, he loved the bumps and holding onto the bar.  He didn't even get into stuff, he just smiled and looked around.  We even got to check out the baby chickens (which made me SO excited to get chickens one day).  I snapped this picture of him looking so proud in his shopping cart.

Some other firsts that happened yesterday:
   1. I lost Maxx, I quickly walked into the kitchen and when I walked back into the living room he was gone.  I found him in my bedroom, he is getting speedy!
   2. I caught Maxx chasing Hemi.  I noticed he kept stopping, sitting up, and then shooting off like a dart.  I watched him for a minute and realized he was chasing Hemi around.  He would start his crawl, get close, she would see him coming and move, he would sit up, she would stop, and he would go after her again.  They did this for about 10 minutes, very cute.
   3.  I had a cup of Yerba Mate, possibly the first cup since we moved from California, DELICIOUS!

He crawls...

My teeny tiny sweet little baby has learned to crawl, and he is getting better at it by the second.  I am amazed how quickly this little person has gone from a fuzzy ultrasound picture to a toddler.  When Kyle and I get used to one thing Maxx can do, he goes ahead and does something else, thank goodness we have a lot of energy because this kid sure is a mover.  He was up on his knees and in the push-up position up for weeks, and then a couple days ago everything clicked and he was off.  Now we are trying to figure out how to keep a baby that wants to get into anything he shouldn't and now is mobile contained.

Practicing crawling was the high priority this weekend, Kyle also finished our staircase and we starting P90X together.  Yes, Kyle and I have started the P90X program, and wowwie, that is tough.  I attempted day one on Friday and had to load up on a few more pieces of equipment, so we officially started yesterday.  Day one.  Today is Plyometrics (sp?), sounds nice enough, I am sure it won't be nice at all.  =)

Oh and I almost forgot, we also had Pineapple for the first time, yummy.  I am fairly certain Maxx liked the squishy texture of it in his hands more than the taste.

All Boy

A couple months into being pregnant Kyle and I started guessing what the little peanut would be.  I was convinced through most of the pregnancy Maxx was going to be a girl for 3 reasons:

1.  At the time EVERYONE seemed to be having girls
2.  Dreams
3.  I just knew Kyle wouldn't get his little boy on the first try

Well, as you all know I was wrong, and as Maxx grows up I giggle about just how "boy" he is.  He is tough, rolls over, hits his head on everything, won't stop moving and mimics all his dads movements and sounds.  He is through and through boy.  When I found out he was a boy, I thought of one drawback, no darling sweet lovely little fun pink clothes.  I was correct on the no darling, sweet, lovely, little and pink, but I was completely wrong on the fun.  Boys actually do have some seriously fun wardrobe choices, yay!  One of my particular favorites is CAMO!  Camo seems to be my favorite thing to dress Maxx in.  It just screams "I am a tough little monster".  =)

Why am I reflecting on this?  Well on Sunday at the Gun and Horn show, Uncle Riley bought Maxx Man the toughest looking Camo Sleeper, and I had to share.  Thank you Ri!  Now it will be even harder to see him when he is scooting all over the house.  =)

Birthday Idea

My little man was born on the Fourth of July, and for his one year birthday I wanted to do a big party for him with lots of fun food, so the search has begun for all things delicious and Fourth of July festive, I came across this idea in AC's pinterest (which I still have NO idea how to use) and fell in love!  How cute?!  It is from Wit and Whistle's blog and I think it is the most darling idea.  She used cookie cutters so really if you had small cookie cutters you could do all sorts of fruits in all different colors and shapes depending on what you want  your fruit salad to celebrate!!! (Like you could do red and green colored fruit with Christmas shapes, maybe even drop them in some jello and bring back the jello salad?!)  I could not get enough of this, so I wanted to share, and if you can make it to the big 1 year bash you will most definitely see this on the table!!!

And while we are talking about the little bugs birthday bash, I have to mention that yesterday we marked 8 months!  So really I only have 4 months of planning to do until we are celebrating 1 whole year! Yikes!  We unfortunately celebrated my little man's 8 months by staying up ALL NIGHT.  =(  He woke up about 3 times, and each time spent about an hour up.  I blame teeth. Mean old naughty no good teeth.  Cutting teeth has been the largest hurdle yet to cross, and last night was no exception.  On a bright note though we are up this morning, happy as a clam and scooting all over the place with a smile!

I am back!  We have relocated our very new family to Sandpoint, Idaho.  We built a beautiful home from the ground up, and when I said we built it ourselves, I mean it.  It took us about 5 months, about one million hours, a couple tears and a few laughs.  It is a masterpiece, I feel so lucky to have married a man as talented as I have.   We are moved in, but still working on a few finishing touches.

Maxx is growing like a weed.  He has such a fiery personality, and now we have a mover.  He still is not crawling but he seems to be able to move everywhere.  It is a challenge to have a little person that can move, I feel like I was just getting used to Mr. Stationary, now he is Mr. I don't want to play with anything I am supposed to play with, and when you turn your back I am going to get to what I shouldn't.  (Wow that was a long name =) )

Beginning, yes Maxx is in the playpen

Our first wall =)

First night in the house

Picking Josh and Katy up at the airport!!!
